Global HIV/AIDS Task Force

Mission Statement:

Inform and mobilize UPC and the larger Christian community to action on behalf of those infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS globally and locally.

About Global AIDS:

Global AIDS presents a humanitarian crisis like none before in human history. Currently more than 42 million people worldwide are infected by HIV/AIDS, 14 million children have been orphaned by the disease, and the pandemic’s worst is yet to come. Sub-Saharan Africa has been hit the hardest with infection rates of 20 to 30 percent in highly impacted countries. In the next few years the epicenter is expected to shift to Eastern Europe, South Asia and China. The global Christian church has a tremendous opportunity to respond to the crisis through prayer, active response, giving of financial resource, and advocacy.
